Off to Birmingham...

Fairfield's Sales & Marketing folks are heading for the NEC Birmingham where The National Venue Show 2007 takes place. This is a show aimed at conference bookers...There's conferences booked at Fairfield as far ahead as 2011.

If you're going to the show come and see us on Stand N15...we'll send a postcard from the show so you can see how the unattractive pile pictured is transformed into a wonderful stand. For details of the show go to www.nationalvenueshow.co.uk

Sus Sus Sus Sus Suspect Device
The sirens were a wailing in Croydon at lunchtime today when East Croydon station was cordoned off.  From what we earwigged from the local paper photographer's conversation (on his mobile, bottom left of picture) there was a suspect package found at the station and they'd evacuated the local office buildings. More than that we know not.

Wedding Bells

Just in case you didn't know....we also do weddings at Fairfield almost every weekend.

These vary from quite small affairs to banquets for up to 400 people (indeed we're probably one of the biggest wedding venues in the South). There's a wedding fair here on Sunday 28th October and if you're coming along then please come visit our stand. Alternatively call us up for a wedding pack on 0208 603 3936.

Some folk have said that we put on such good weddings that it's worth collaring some stranger off the street and proposing there and then, just so you can sample our fantastic wedding hospitality. Admittedly the 'some folk' that said it work in Fairfield's Marketing Department, but you can't knock us for trying.

That's 200 quid then...

These are the poster drums that are outside Fairfield. Sadly we came in this morning to find they'd been in receipt of a damned good kicking last night. The three acrylic sheets will cost 68 pounds each to replace (plus VAT).

Fairfield is a registered charity in receipt of very little public funding. Therefore every penny counts and everyone here has put in a lot effort to make sure Croydon still has a world class venue on its doorstep. Unfortunately these sorts of sums can't be claimed back on insurance.

So, whilst we wish whoever did it no permanent ill-will, we do hope that the sharp edges they created may have caused at least a little blood loss around the ankles.

If you know of anyone that returned home late last night with either blood-stained socks, or preferably their foot hanging off, please let us know and I'm sure we can rustle up a reward of some sort.
