Up On The Roof....
Probably a bit more 'open' than anyone expected...see the picture of our hardy Fairfield tourists on our roof and admiring the scenic views of Croydon. This was part of the London Open House programme whereby buildings open themselves up via guided tours around all the nooks and crannies the public normally wouldn't get to see. We had our pre-booked tours on Saturday and they filled up very quickly...indeed we may think about doing some more later in the year as they proved so popular.

Panto Launched Yesterday!

Larry Lamb and the rest of our wonderful panto cast flew in on a magic carpet yesterday and landed in Croydon's Queen's Gardens. The assembled members of the press just happened to be there (just by coincidence) and they got loads of great pics (look out for them in the local papers next week)

Incidentally, if were you thinking that the cast are all tiny and we'd got ourselves all confused between Aladdin and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves...its actually the lamp that is quite big....Obligatory Marketing Speak > 'What's not big are our prices! Grab tickets for the first week at only £15' (T&C apply, subject to availability, booking fee, etc etc etc)

Er, Sorry....

No blog posting since 4th May, ..that's terrible!...and there's no excuse other than we've become obsessed with social media (the omnipresent twitter and facebook...if you join us there you'll catch up on all the gossip). So what's been happening in the meantime...well we're on our fifth or sixth Stand! gig (contemporary music for a standing audience in our Arnhem Gallery) and that's proving a great success with some fantastic evenings had by all...we've had a brilliant summer school here for the past few weeks, with people already booking for next year...in addition to our panto at Christmas(Aladdin starring Larry Lamb) we've also got 50+ shows of Santa Claus and the Christmas Adventure (which is like an interactive show for younger children where there's a show, a meet and greet with Santa and a free gift to go home with as well!)...and we also had the matter of the riots, the heartache they caused and images of Croydon burning being broadcast all over the world.

However Croydon is fighting back and the world has joined us. This week we welcomed 2000+ delegates from all over the globe for the Drupalcon London Conference 2011. These wonderful smart people (see picture) have visited Croydon, stayed in its hotels, sampled its bars and restaurants and are having a great time here...and we've all welcomed them with open arms. Thanks for coming people!

Stand Up at Stand!!!

As the sign says we've got a whole new 'thing' launching soon called 'STAND!'...in which you can indeed stand and watch gigs in our Arnhem Gallery...we've got some great names coming up including Snowboy (launch event on May 19th) and David McAlmont. To find out more about STAND! see the new website at www.standatfairfield.com

...incidentally you can sit down if you want, but there's no chairs, so you'll get in the way.
